- Sterling Capital Management LLC (Sterling), headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a registered investment adviser founded in 1970.
Sterling seeks highly motivated candidates who are interested in developing a solid understanding of the inner workings of the investment management business. This position resides within the firm’s Client Service and Analytics Team and will grant you exposure to many areas of the business including business development, client service, marketing, portfolio management, operations and compliance.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create client portfolio reviews, specifically in the compiling of portfolio-level analytics and incorporating the data into client review materials
- Assist the client strategy team with client and prospect inquiries and requests
- Maintain all necessary client records to meet compliance and regulatory requirements
- Analyze company financial statements and investment policies to work with the various investment teams in creating proposed portfolios
- Responsible for creating new client records and updating changes in the firm’s CRM
- Work with the Marketing Department in developing prospecting materials
- Act as a main point of contact for functional teams within the firm in ensuring client needs and objective are understood and met
- Coordinate and participate on calls with prospects and consultants aimed at introducing the firm’s products and services
- Coordinate the set-up of onboarding new relationships including; compiling new account documentation, communicating account details to the applicable groups within the firm, following all compliance and regulatory processes, working with investment teams to develop investment guidelines and ensuring that all steps are completed within the designated timeline
- Oversee the day-to-day servicing and maintenance of client accounts
- Required Qualifications
- Required Education: Four year bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Articulate with excellent interpersonal skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Solid computer skills with ability to learn and proficiently use several software packages, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint a must.
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and experience working under strict deadlines.
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently but also with diverse individuals/groups.
- Must be an effective multi-tasker
- Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of financial work experience, preferably in investments
- Prefer experience with Advent APX, Salesforce and FactSet
