Location: Remote (U.S.), with a handful of trips each year to Washington, D.C. and/or Minneapolis, MN.
- About the Role
- Inquoro is seeking a Chief Data Officer to own the data strategy at the heart of our business. This is a senior leadership role - reporting to the CEO and serving on the executive team - for someone who deeply understands modern progressive data, knows the research the progressive community relies on, and can translate that understanding into technology, products, and a high-performing team.
We’re a small, technical team building something with real momentum, and we’re looking for a partner to help us grow it. You’ll be the connective tissue between our data, the people who do the work, and the clients and partners who depend on it. You’ll own entire product lines end to end, set the direction for how we turn our data assets into new products, and build the foundation for where Inquoro goes next.
- Why Inquoro
- Inquoro is a technology-driven research infrastructure company with a simple promise: public opinion, precisely known.
We build and field our own directly-recruited, identity-validated respondent panel, matched against best-in-class person-level data, so every response can be trusted. That panel becomes larger, more efficient, and higher-quality with every campaign we run - a genuine compounding advantage.
We’re early, the team is small, and the person in this role will help decide what we build and how far it goes. For someone who knows progressive data and research from the inside, this is a rare chance to take that expertise and turn it into products, infrastructure, and a business - with real ownership and real upside.
In This Role, You Will:
- Own our data strategy - the architecture, quality, and analytic value of our panel and our person-level data ecosystem, and how that data powers everything we ship
- Own entire product lines end to end, including our omnibus reporting and the data products we build from the rich data our panel generates, with full responsibility for quality, roadmap, and growth
- Build out a new generation of digital measurement products that help media buyers and digital advertisers evaluate and understand the impact of their efforts - and the return on their investments
- Lead and grow the team - managing analysts and researchers with strong personnel management, mentorship, clear performance expectations, and professional development
- Run the work - bring rigorous project management to scoping, resourcing, sequencing, and on-time delivery across the full portfolio
- Scope new offerings that extend our methods and products beyond the political and advocacy space, navigating the data-rights, partnership, and product considerations that come with entering new markets
- Serve as a trusted partner to clients and partners on data, research design, and what the results actually mean for their decisions
- Drive innovation - bring AI, automation, and emerging data sources into our workflows from design through delivery
Qualifications
- Required:
- Deep, hands-on understanding of modern voter-file and person-level data, and the analytic infrastructure that powers progressive campaigns, organizations, and research
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing people - building, mentoring, and growing a team of practitioners and researchers
- Strong project management skills: scoping, resourcing, and delivering complex work on time across multiple priorities
- A track record of owning a product, data set, or research line end to end - not just contributing to it
- Fluency translating between research questions and technical execution - you can sit with researchers, understand what they need, and direct the data and engineering work to deliver it
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and large-scale data environments; comfort with Python or R
- Familiarity with the research the progressive community runs and how data and panels are used to support it
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to Have:
- Experience building or scoping commercial/data products, including in markets beyond politics
- Background in survey methodology - sampling, weighting, questionnaire design, or experimental methods
- Experience with measurement and attribution for media or digital advertising
- Familiarity with omnibus survey products or panel-based research
- Experience applying AI and automation across the research lifecycle
- Advanced degree in a quantitative, data, or social-science field
- Work Environment
- This is a fully remote position. You’ll work closely with the executive team, clients, and partners over video and asynchronous communication, with a few trips each year to Washington, D.C. and/or Minneapolis for in-person collaboration and company gatherings.
- Compensation and Benefits
- The salary range for this position is $180,000–$200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- This is a partner-level opportunity, and the package reflects that. In addition to salary, Inquoro offers:
- A meaningful equity stake - we’re looking for someone to help build and grow Inquoro
- A health insurance stipend
- A matching 401(k) plan
- Generous paid leave
- A company laptop and a remote-first culture built around outcomes, not hours
- Application Materials
- Interested candidates should submit their resume and a cover letter to: [email protected]
