- Cerner Revenue Cycle Analyst – Patient Accounting & Coding Workflow

- Position Overview
- We are seeking an experienced Cerner Revenue Cycle Analyst to support a critical initiative focused on resolving shared hospital and physician encounter coding workflows. This is a highly technical build-and-test role centered on Cerner Millennium Patient Accounting and billing entity configuration within a complex, multi-entity environment.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Cerner Revenue Cycle applications and enjoys solving complex workflow, configuration, and billing challenges while partnering closely with operational and IT stakeholders.
- Key Responsibilities
- Configure, test, and optimize billing entity workflows within Cerner Millennium Patient Accounting.
- Analyze and resolve coding hold and claim hold issues across hospital and professional billing workflows.
- Configure hold triggers, release logic, and encounter-specific processing for inpatient, observation, emergency department, and ambulatory encounters.
- Evaluate, modify, and support system operations jobs related to coding and claim hold processing.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans covering mixed hospital and physician encounter scenarios.
- Prepare technical documentation, configuration specifications, and testing results for client IT review.
- Participate in change control processes, present planned changes to the Change Advisory Board (CAB), and provide at-the-elbow support during production go-live activities.
- Collaborate with revenue cycle, coding, clinical, and technical teams to ensure accurate and efficient billing workflows.
- Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience with Cerner Millennium Patient Accounting (CernerWorks/RevElate).
- Proven experience supporting multi-entity billing environments, including hospital and professional billing within a shared Cerner domain.
- Strong knowledge of coding hold and claim hold configuration, including hold triggers, release logic, and encounter-specific processing.
- Experience evaluating and modifying Cerner system operations jobs.
- Ability to write or modify Cerner Command Language (CCL) scripts is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing complex testing scenarios across multiple encounter types.
- Experience managing production implementations, change control processes, and go-live support.
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.

- Experience supporting enterprise Cerner implementations in large health systems.
