Oracle Health/Cerner Charge Services Implementation Consultant

  • We are seeking an experienced Oracle Health/Cerner Charge Services Implementation Consultant to lead Charge Services implementations supporting CommunityWorks hospitals.
  • This is a senior, client-facing consulting role for someone who can independently own the Charge Services solution throughout the full implementation lifecycle. The consultant will serve as the primary Charge Services subject-matter expert for assigned projects, guiding hospital stakeholders through design, configuration, testing, deployment, go-live, and post-live stabilization.
  • Position Details
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week
  • Employment: W2 hourly contract
  • Duration: 12+ months
  • Location: Primarily remote
  • Travel: Event-based travel to client locations during key implementation milestones
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
  • Engagement Requirements: W2 employment only; no C2C, 1099, subcontracting, or third-party consulting firms
  • What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the lead Oracle Health/Cerner Charge Services consultant for assigned hospital implementations.
  • Independently own the Charge Services workstream from design and requirements validation through build, testing, deployment, go-live, and stabilization.
  • Lead client discussions with revenue cycle, finance, clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders.
  • Lead solution design sessions and work directly with hospital stakeholders to gather Charge Services workflow, configuration, and reference-data requirements.
  • Complete, maintain, and validate solution-specific Data Collection Workbooks (DCWs) throughout the design and build process.
  • Translate approved DCW decisions into Charge Services configuration and ensure the completed build aligns with documented client requirements.
  • Track outstanding design decisions, configuration dependencies, and required client inputs through resolution.
  • Review DCWs and completed configuration with client stakeholders to confirm accuracy before testing and deployment.
  • Assess current-state charge capture processes and guide clients through future-state workflow and system-design decisions.
  • Translate operational and revenue-cycle requirements into appropriate Oracle Health/Cerner configuration.
  • Configure, validate, and troubleshoot Charge Services functionality, including charge events, charge routing, tiers, pricing, Charge Viewer, and related charging rules.
  • Support charging workflows across acute, outpatient, ambulatory, ancillary, and other hospital departments.
  • Coordinate Charge Services dependencies with Patient Accounting, Patient Management, HIM, clinical applications, interfaces, and downstream financial systems.
  • Identify workflow gaps, charging discrepancies, failed transactions, reconciliation issues, and potential revenue leakage.
  • Develop and execute unit, integrated, regression, and end-to-end testing.
  • Create test scenarios, document results, manage defects, and drive issues through resolution.
  • Support data validation, cutover planning, readiness activities, go-live, and post-live stabilization.
  • Maintain implementation documentation, provide project updates, and escalate risks or issues appropriately.
  • Educate hospital stakeholders on recommended workflows, system functionality, and operational readiness.
  • Travel to client locations for scheduled project events such as workflow sessions, testing, readiness activities, cutover, go-live, and stabilization support.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Health/Cerner Millennium Charge Services.
  • Proven experience completing full Charge Services implementations from design and DCW completion through build, testing, go-live, and stabilization.
  • Hands-on experience completing and maintaining Oracle Health/Cerner Data Collection Workbooks (DCWs) for Charge Services implementations.
  • Ability to translate DCW requirements and approved design decisions into accurate system build and configuration.
  • Experience leading design validation sessions and obtaining client confirmation of workflow and build decisions.
  • Ability to independently lead the Charge Services workstream and serve as the primary solution expert for assigned projects.
  • Strong experience with Charge Services configuration, including tiers, pricing tools, Charge Viewer, charge events, routing logic, and charging rules.
  • Strong understanding of hospital charge capture, charge reconciliation, revenue integrity, and revenue-cycle workflows.
  • Experience supporting acute, outpatient, ambulatory, ancillary, or multi-facility charging environments.
  • Experience with solution design, system build, workflow validation, testing, defect resolution, cutover, and go-live support.
  • Ability to facilitate client meetings, guide workflow decisions, and provide clear recommendations to operational and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation, communication, problem-solving, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment while coordinating with broader implementation teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel based on project milestones.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Oracle Health/Cerner CommunityWorks implementation experience.
  • Prior experience working directly for Oracle Health/Cerner or representing Oracle Health on client implementations.
  • Experience supporting community, rural, or critical-access hospitals.
  • Knowledge of related Oracle Health/Cerner revenue-cycle solutions, including Patient Accounting, Patient Management, HIM, and clinical charging integrations.
  • Experience working within standardized, shared-domain, or multi-client implementation models.
  • Familiarity with charge master, coding, billing, general ledger, and downstream financial system dependencies.
  • Travel Expectations
  • This position is primarily remote with event-based travel. Travel is scheduled around specific implementation milestones rather than occurring on a fixed weekly basis. Onsite events may include workflow sessions, testing, operational-readiness activities, cutover, go-live, and stabilization support. Travel frequency will vary depending on project schedules and client needs.
