Position: Cash Apps Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Process and post daily incoming payments (via ACH, wire transfers, checks, and credit cards) to customer accounts.
- Reconcile unapplied cash and resolve payment discrepancies by communicating with internal teams and external clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer payment records in the accounting system.
- Investigate and resolve short pays, overpayments, and other variances.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing cash-related reports and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Collections teams to ensure smooth cash flow.
- Maintain documentation of all cash application activities and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and account analysis.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or general accounting.
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a high-volume transaction environment.
- Knowledge of electronic payment systems and bank reconciliations.
- Understanding of GAAP and internal controls related to cash handling.
Salary range for the Cash Apps Specialist is $45k-$52k/year based on experience.
