Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Buyer / Procurement Analyst to support aerospace and defense manufacturing operations in Stratford, CT. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience procuring airframe detail parts and assemblies, working from engineering drawings, and using SAP/MRP systems.

This role will manage the procurement process from sourcing and RFQs through supplier selection, price negotiation, purchase order placement, delivery follow-up, and supplier performance.

• Key Responsibilities
• Procure airframe detail parts, assemblies, materials, equipment, tools, and services based on engineering requirements.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to support Build-to-Print procurement.
• Develop RFQs, bid packages, subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions.
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend qualified suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery.
• Review and analyze supplier proposals, quotations, and pricing.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, terms, schedules, and subcontract provisions.
• Use SAP and MRP systems to support material requirements and procurement activities.
• Place and manage purchase orders and monitor supplier commitments.
• Track orders, verify deliveries, resolve issues, and support timely material availability.
• Analyze supplier costs, manufacturing processes, price trends, and other factors affecting procurement decisions.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Contracts, and other internal teams.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
• Support additions, deletions, and modifications to existing subcontracts or purchase agreements.
• Conduct supplier follow-up and assist with supplier performance management.
• Some travel may be required.

• Required Qualifications
• Experience in aerospace/defense procurement, buying, or supply chain.
• Experience procuring airframe parts and assemblies.
• Experience working with engineering drawings / Build-to-Print requirements.
• Hands-on experience with SAP and/or MRP systems.
• Strong supplier sourcing, RFQ, cost analysis, and price negotiation experience.
• Ability to evaluate supplier capabilities, pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Preferred Experience
• Aerospace manufacturing or aircraft production environment.
• Experience with subcontract procurement and administration.
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and supplier operations.
• Experience with machined, fabricated, or other aerospace structural components.
• Experience preparing and evaluating competitive bid packages.
