Business Systems Analyst

The Senior Business Analyst is the on-site translator between the business and the technology team delivering business systems projects. This role owns documenting how my clients current processes work, determining how the future state should be defined, and turning agreed upon enhancements or improvements that into specifications the development team can build against. Beyond gathering requirements, the Senior BA answers open questions, defends scope, and ensures the most critical requests from the business are delivered.

• Key Responsibilities
• Own requirements gathering and management - elicit, document, and maintain business and functional requirements, producing clear specs and user stories the build team can develop and test against. Prioritizes business demand across various business stakeholders.
• Map processes - document current and future-state processes, identifying opportunities to simplify workflows rather than recreate legacy complexity.
• Close open questions - own the decisions and assumptions log, driving answers from subject-matter experts to ensure delivery commitments are met.
• Steward scope - defend the agreed scope against feature creep and flag asks that reintroduce complexity.
• Support data migration - define validation criteria, investigate anomalies, and translate findings into migration requirements.
• Lead QA and UAT - build test scenarios from the business rules and secure final business approval before go-live.
• Onsite Support - approximately 10-20% travel may be required to events, venues, and partner sites to observe processes firsthand and support stakeholders where the business operates.
• Qualifications
• Ideal candidate will have knowledge of the live events space
• CBAP, Agile, or Scrum certification preferred.
