About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Project/Program Manager III to join the Global Engineering Services (GES) Risk Management team. In this role, you will oversee multiple facility installation and launch projects, partnering with vendors, construction teams, engineering organizations, and business stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
This position plays a critical role in supporting Amazon's network expansion initiatives by driving project schedules, managing risks, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments, communicates effectively across diverse stakeholder groups, and takes ownership of project outcomes.
About the Team:
The Global Engineering Services (GES) Risk Management team is responsible for overseeing vendor execution across First Mile and Middle Mile projects. The team works closely with vendors, General Contractors, Design & Construction teams, Startup & Launch teams, engineering organizations, and business stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
This is a highly collaborative environment comprised of team members with backgrounds spanning operations, engineering, field engineering, and global Amazon organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple installation and launch projects simultaneously, typically supporting 5–10 active projects at a time.
- Own projects from vendor onboarding through project completion and operational handoff.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Lead daily, weekly, and recurring vendor scorecard meetings to track project performance and execution.
- Identify, assess, document, and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Escalate critical issues and risks to leadership while driving resolution plans.
- Coordinate activities across multiple stakeholder groups, including:
- Vendors
- General Contractors (GCs)
- Design & Construction teams
- Startup & Launch teams
- Engineering organizations
- Business stakeholders
- GES leadership
- Monitor project health and proactively address schedule, resource, and execution challenges.
- Facilitate communication and alignment among internal and external project partners.
- Drive accountability and ensure project milestones are achieved on schedule.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to project delivery, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of project management, program management, or related experience.
- Experience managing complex projects from initiation through completion.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing project schedules, timelines, and deliverables.
- Experience identifying, mitigating, and escalating project risks.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience coordinating work across multiple teams and organizations.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both in-person and virtual environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Engineering, construction, technical operations, facilities, or related background.
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, and third-party partners.
- Experience working in engineering, construction, infrastructure, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Experience supporting facility launch, installation, startup, or capital project initiatives.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with varying timelines and complexity.
