Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Intelligence (BI) Developer role based in Los Angeles, CA. The BI Developer will design, develop, and maintain data models, ETL processes, and data warehouses to support analytics and reporting across the HummingBird platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and optimizing BI solutions, developing dashboards and reports, validating data quality, and collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data structures. The role involves analyzing complex datasets to generate actionable insights, improving data workflows for efficiency and reliability, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization. The BI Developer will also contribute to continuous improvement of BI tools, documentation, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and experience with data analytics to interpret complex datasets and support business decisions.
• Proficiency in data warehousing concepts and architectures, including design, implementation, and optimization of data repositories.
• Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, including building, monitoring, and optimizing data pipelines.
• Expertise in data modeling, including dimensional modeling and schema design for BI and reporting solutions.
• Solid experience with SQL and relational databases; familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) is beneficial.
• Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) for building dashboards and reports.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in HR tech, talent platforms, or SaaS environments, and familiarity with AI-driven analytics, is a plus.
