About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Product Data Scientist to join our Supply Operations team. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to leverage data in driving operational excellence and safety. Reporting to the Product Data Science Lead, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs), developing scalable data infrastructure, and analyzing operational data to enhance response protocols and overall system performance. Your insights will directly impact the safety, efficiency, and scalability of Waymo's autonomous driving operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of autonomous vehicle technology, applying advanced data science techniques to real-world challenges in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Proven track record of architecting and scaling data projects
- Strong expertise in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex topics clearly to stakeholders at all levels
- Action-oriented analytical mindset with the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Define, build, and maintain KPIs and metrics to monitor operational safety and quality across the Operations Center
- Architect and scale data infrastructure to support automated reporting for Road Rule Events, enhancing operational transparency and safety insights
- Quantify operational capacity to handle events, providing data-driven insights to optimize team performance and response protocols
- Analyze agent response accuracy and patterns to identify performance trends and opportunities for workflow optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust data pipelines and reporting solutions that support operational resilience
- Contribute to AI model training by providing insights from operational data and performance analysis
