- About AurosIQ
- AurosIQ builds B2B software for engineering, manufacturing, and Industrial companies. We're about 30 people, ISO 27001 certified, with real customers and real revenue. Our deals take 18 to 24 months and involve engineers, procurement teams, and executives who each need something different from us.
- That length is the reason this role exists. With cycles that long, we can't afford to be casual about which accounts we chase or what we know about them before we make contact.
- The role
- We have two business development reps. Your job is to make both of them significantly more effective.
- The core of the work is research: figuring out which companies are worth pursuing, what's actually happening inside them, and who owns the problem we solve. The second half is turning that research into outreach that runs on a system instead of on someone remembering, most of it in HubSpot. You'll also keep marketing execution moving against what BD and leadership actually need.
- You'll report to our VP of Business Development, and work daily with both BD VPs and our CEO.
- We are not looking for a BD or marketing professional
- We mean that. We're looking for someone smart, relentless, and genuinely curious who wants to build a career in business development or marketing and is willing to earn it from the research side first.
- If you've spent five years in a marketing ops seat, this probably isn't your next move. If you're early in your career, you outwork everyone around you, and you want direct access to a CEO and two VPs while you learn how enterprise selling actually works, keep reading.
- What you'll do
- Research, the majority of the job
- Profile target accounts: what they build, what's changing for them, who owns the problem
- Track signals across engineering, manufacturing, and energy: expansions, funding, regulatory shifts, leadership changes, new plant investment
- Build and maintain target account and contact lists from paid data sources and manual digging
- Turn all of it into short, usable briefs the BD team reads before a call
- Develop a point of view. "Here are ten companies" is data entry. "Skip these six and here's why" is the job.
- Run outreach in HubSpot
- Build and maintain sequenced outreach campaigns
- Keep the CRM clean and trustworthy, accounts, contacts, activity, stage hygiene
- Track and report what's working: reply rates, meeting conversion, source quality. Bring the numbers without being asked.
- Keep marketing execution on track
- Run a single intake queue for marketing requests from BD and leadership, so they arrive prioritized instead of scattered
- Maintain the shared calendar of campaigns, content, and deadlines
- Follow up on commitments, surface slippage early, escalate priority conflicts to your manager
- What we're looking for
- Required
- Evidence of hustle. Something you built, ran, sold, organized, or figured out with no one telling you how. This matters more to us than your resume.
- Strong written English. You'll be drafting outreach for senior engineers with zero patience for filler.
- Genuine research ability, start from a company name, end with an informed opinion
- Comfort living inside software tools. Spreadsheets at a level other people find excessive is a good sign.
- Organized enough to hold VPs to their commitments without being unpleasant about it
- Advantages
- Any HubSpot exposure
- Familiarity with technical, engineering, or industrial products
- Exposure to long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
- Basic scripting, APIs, or no-code automation
- On HubSpot: most of our BD activity runs through it. You will be expected to become genuinely expert within your first 90 days. We'll support that, but the drive has to come from you.
- What this role is not
- Not administrative work or calendar management
- Not a quota-carrying sales role, you won't be cold calling all day
- Not somewhere to coast. On a 30-person team your work is visible immediately, for better and worse.
- Where this leads
- We're hiring you to grow into business development or marketing here. The research seat is the fastest way to learn our market, our customers, and how enterprise deals actually get done, and it puts you in front of both BD VPs and our CEO from week one.
- By 90 days: target account list current and defensible, HubSpot sequences running on schedule, and you can tell a VP which accounts to skip. By 6 months: meetings and pipeline that exist because of research and systems you built. By 12–18 months: a real conversation about moving into a BD or marketing seat, with the track record to back it.
- Compensation and logistics
- $70,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience
- Full-time employee
- Hybrid, our office is in Livonia, MI (metro Detroit)
- Health Insurance
- How to apply
- Two things:
- Your resume.
- A short note, why you think you're a fit.
- Bonus: complete HubSpot's free CRM or Inbound certification and send the link. It takes about two hours. It's not required, and we notice.
Apply through LinkedIn.
