• About the Opportunity
• We are actively hiring a talented Business Systems Analyst (Contract) to support enterprise application rollouts across utility operations. You will bridge the gap between technical teams, external vendors, and business units to ensure seamless solution delivery.
• The primary focus involves onboarding an Electric Engineering Analysis & Planning platform, where you will capture business requirements, develop test strategies, and oversee end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Core Responsibilities
• Requirements Elicitation: Lead discovery sessions, analyze workflows, and define clear user stories with acceptance criteria within an Agile framework.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Master third-party application functionalities, draft detailed test scenarios, and drive UAT execution.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Product Managers, technical leads, and software vendors to track milestones and remove project roadblocks.
• System & Operational Support: Monitor system reliability, guide change management efforts, and facilitate smooth user adoption.
• Qualifications
• 5+ years of progressive experience in business systems analysis on large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Proven track record with Agile methodologies, backlog refinement, and system integrations.
• Practical expertise in authoring comprehensive test plans, managing defects, and coordinating UAT.
• Strong data query analysis, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication abilities.
• Workplace & Location
• Hybrid: Must be based near Cedar Rapids, IA or Madison, WI for periodic in-person workshops and collaborative sessions.
• Preferred Industry Background
• Prior exposure to energy or utility systems such as GIS, ADMS, Engineering Analysis Tools, or Asset Management solutions.
