About The Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Analyst and Planner to join our fully remote team within our medical device manufacturing organization. This critical role involves designing, maintaining, and optimizing IT infrastructure to support various business functions including manufacturing, research and development, applications, information security, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in infrastructure planning, financial analysis, vendor management, and IT risk management to ensure the deployment of scalable, secure, and cost-effective systems aligned with industry standards and business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of coordinating remote cross-functional teams, leading infrastructure projects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in a highly regulated environment. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure planning, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or regulated industry (medical device experience strongly preferred)
- Proven expertise in financial analysis, vendor management, and IT risk management
- High-level knowledge of IT infrastructure components (virtualization, cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure, networking, storage solutions)
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as MES and ERP (e.g., Oracle EBS)
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and system reliability planning
- Certifications such as PMP, Scrum/Agile, or ITIL Foundation (preferred)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for IT infrastructure supporting all business areas, including servers, networks, cloud solutions, and data storage
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams remotely to align infrastructure with manufacturing, R&D, and regulatory needs
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and prepare budgets for IT infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals
- Monitor ROI for infrastructure initiatives and identify opportunities for cost optimization
- Evaluate and select third-party vendors for hardware, software, and managed services, negotiating contracts and SLAs remotely
- Assess vendor performance, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with medical device regulations
- Identify, assess, and prioritize IT risks, including cybersecurity threats and data integrity issues, developing mitigation strategies accordingly
- Lead system reliability and business continuity planning, conducting regular testing to ensure minimal operational disruptions
- Oversee the implementation of infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new deployments, coordinating project activities remotely
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and maintain detailed documentation for audits and assessments
- Establish and track KPIs related to infrastructure performance, system uptime, cost efficiency, and compliance metrics
- Facilitate virtual workshops and planning sessions to ensure infrastructure strategies meet business demands and regulatory requirements
