• About the Role
• We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Business Analyst to join our growing IT consulting team in Columbia, Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals looking to build a career in business analysis and technology consulting.
• The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and support the successful delivery of client-facing technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and requirements workshops.
• Create user stories, process flows, use cases, and business documentation.
• Assist in business process analysis and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate business requirements.
• Track project requirements, risks, issues, and action items.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation for stakeholders.
• Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2+ years of Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Project Coordination, or related experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC concepts and software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum principles.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to work effectively in a client-facing consulting environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Exposure to SQL and data analysis.
• Internship, academic project, or professional experience involving requirements gathering and business process analysis.
• Prior experience in an IT Services or Consulting environment.
• OPT candidates with relevant coursework, internships, or project experience are highly preferred.
