In this role, you will support the Branch Network Planning and Business Analysis team in the delivery of projects, reporting, presentations and business analysis related to the Canadian Banking retail branch network. The role is well suited to someone who is organized, proactive, comfortable working in PowerPoint and Excel, and able to communicate clearly with internal partners. You will help coordinate work across stakeholders, prepare materials, track progress, and support analysis that informs branch planning decisions
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Support Branch Network Planning Projects And Team Deliverables By
- Assisting with the coordination and tracking of branch planning projects, including renovations, relocations, market reviews and other network initiatives.
- Preparing clear PowerPoint materials, summaries and briefing documents that help communicate project status, key findings and recommendations.
- Using Excel to organize data, update trackers, complete basic analysis and support business case inputs.
- Gathering information from internal partners and helping consolidate inputs into practical, decision-ready materials.
- Partnering with regional teams, Real Estate, Optimization, Finance and other stakeholders to support the execution of approved network initiatives.
- Maintaining project documentation, meeting notes, action logs and follow-ups to support timely progress and clear ownership.
- Proactively identifying issues, risks or missing information and escalating them to the Manager or Senior Manager with suggested next steps.
- Understanding how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursuing effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct and Global Sales Principles, while contributing to an inclusive work environment.
Skills
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Post-secondary education in business, commerce, finance, economics, urban planning, real estate or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Previous co-op, internship, branch banking, operations, project coordination or business support experience is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, including the ability to prepare clear materials, maintain trackers, organize data and complete basic analysis
- Strong communication, organization and follow-up skills, with curiosity, initiative and a willingness to learn
- Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to learn about branch banking, network planning, real estate and business case development. Familiarity with the Canadian retail banking environment is an asset.
- Experience supporting projects, initiatives or business activities in a banking, operations, strategy, planning or related environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, track details and follow through on commitments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, including the ability to prepare clear presentations, maintain trackers, organize data and complete basic analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize information clearly and work with a range of internal stakeholders.
Working Conditions
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel domestically in Canada to perform market reviews/branch visits.
