Position: Business Analyst – Retail POS / NGPOS

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a Next Generation Point-of-Sale (NGPOS) Engineering Support POD. The role will work closely with Product, Engineering, Support, and business stakeholders to drive application enhancements, manage requirements, prioritize production issues, and support operational initiatives for a large-scale retail POS platform.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for application enhancements and support initiatives.
Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, and backlog items.
Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, UAT, and Agile delivery activities.
Partner with Product, Engineering, Support, and business teams to analyze production issues and enhancement requests.
Assess business impact, dependencies, priorities, and requirements for application changes.
Coordinate across business and technical teams to facilitate successful delivery.
Maintain functional documentation, process documentation, and knowledge articles related to NGPOS features and processes.
Support release readiness, change management, and production support activities.
Ensure requirements and delivered solutions align with business objectives and operational needs.
Mandatory Skills
Strong experience in Business Analysis, requirements gathering, and Agile delivery.
Hands-on experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile/project management tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience supporting application enhancements and production operations.
Ability to work effectively with Product, Engineering, Support, and business stakeholders.
Preferred / Additional Skills
Experience in Retail, Point-of-Sale (POS), Store Systems, or Retail Technology.
Understanding of APIs, system integrations, and microservices.
Experience with SQL and data analysis.
Exposure to AWS, Azure, or other cloud-based applications.
Experience working in an engineering support or production support environment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-to-senior level Business Analyst with strong Agile delivery experience and a background supporting retail applications, POS platforms, or store systems. They should be comfortable translating business needs into detailed user stories and functional requirements while working closely with engineering and support teams.
Candidates with experience in NGPOS, Retail POS, Store Technology, production support, Jira/Confluence, SQL, APIs, and cloud applications will be highly preferred.
