About the Role
We are seeking a Business Analyst / Transit Data SME to support a public-sector transportation client's data warehouse modernization initiative. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to gather requirements, define transit data needs, and support reporting, analytics, and data governance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, reporting, and data requirements.
Collaborate with transit stakeholders to understand operational and reporting needs.
Support data mapping, source-to-target validation, and data quality initiatives.
Define KPIs, reporting logic, and dashboard requirements for BI solutions.
Facilitate stakeholder workshops, requirement sessions, and UAT activities.
Assist with data governance, business glossary, metadata, and lineage documentation.
Support change management, documentation, and user adoption activities.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a Business Analyst on transportation, transit, or public-sector data projects.
Experience supporting data warehouse, BI, reporting, analytics, or data modernization initiatives.
Strong understanding of transit data, including ridership, fare collection, routes, scheduling, operations, or service performance.
Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
Experience with data mapping, data validation, and data quality.
Hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or modern analytics platforms.
Experience supporting data governance, metadata, business glossary, or data lineage initiatives.
Strong stakeholder communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills
Experience with GTFS, CAD/AVL, AVL/APC, fare collection, scheduling, or transit reporting systems.
Experience with public-sector transportation agencies or transit authorities.
Experience modernizing legacy reporting environments into enterprise data warehouses.
CBAP, PMI-PBA, PL-300, CDMP, PMP, CAPM, Agile/Scrum, or ITIL certifications.
