About The Company

McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. Here, we focus on the health, happiness, and well-being of you and those we serve - we care.

About The Role

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is a highly visible, hands-on individual contributor responsible for building and scaling AIM28's analytics, reporting, and value-realization measurement capabilities. Reporting to the AIM28 Finance Lead, this role will design and own end-to-end data models, ETL pipelines, dashboards, and automation solutions that transform complex, fragmented data into trusted insights for executives and program leaders. In addition, this role will support other strategic projects as required.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in SQL, data modeling, BI visualization, automation, and AI-enabled analytics with strong business and finance acumen. Operating as the sole analytics builder within the AIM28 Finance team, this person will create the program's single source of truth for KPI, benefit, investment, and value-realization reporting while driving self-service analytics, reporting automation, and AI-powered insights across the AIM28 portfolio.

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will lead the development of business intelligence, data visualization, analytics, and reporting automation for the AIM28 program and other strategic projects within U.S. Pharmaceutical Distribution (USPD). AIM28 is McKesson's AI-enabled transformation program, organized around a portfolio of Big Bets, each accountable for delivering measurable business outcomes. This role reports directly into the Sr. Director, Finance (AIM28). This is a hands-on builder role that turns Big Bet data into trusted, automated benefit and value-realization reporting for program leadership and senior executives. The source material varies: some data arrives raw and needs business logic before use, some resides in manual files, and some is visualized in dashboards created by the business teams.

You will architect an AI-ready analytics and reporting model that pairs traditional dashboards with AI capabilities such as automated narratives and conversational agents, enabling stakeholders to self-serve and access insights faster. Where data is raw, you will establish transformation logic to make it consumable. Where reporting exists in manual files or scattered dashboards, you will integrate and standardize it into Big Bet and AIM28 program-level solutions. This is a highly visible individual contributor role requiring deep SQL proficiency, strong knowledge of data design, and storytelling skills to brief senior executives. You will address problems that are often half-defined, transforming them into reliable numbers and clear answers.

This role operates under the direction of the AIM28 Finance Lead, partnering with Big Bet teams, the transformation office, and McKesson Technology to codify KPI definitions and benefit methodologies into governed data models, ensuring a single version of truth across the program.

Because it is embedded in Finance rather than a BI or data engineering organization, you will own the full stack—from requirements and design to build, testing, and adoption—without a dedicated team for support. Comfort working in financial concepts such as ROI, forecasting, variance analysis, and business-case logic is essential, gained through direct experience partnering with finance or FP&A teams.

Qualifications

  • A builder's mindset with the ability to work through loosely defined problems and deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and imperfect data, including raw extracts, manual spreadsheets, and shifting requirements.
  • Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with experience collaborating with finance or FP&A teams.
  • Ability to work independently as the sole technical contributor within Finance, owning all aspects of reporting and analytics.
  • Proven track record of developing and monitoring KPIs that influence business decisions and building automated reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex analytical insights to senior leadership.
  • Strong ownership and judgment, with the ability to validate outputs and make pragmatic decisions.
  • Exceptional organization and prioritization skills to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Curiosity about AI applications, including experience with GenAI and conversational agents is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Expert SQL skills, including complex query development, window functions, and performance tuning on large, multi-source datasets.
  • Strong data modeling and design capabilities to create scalable, maintainable data architectures.
  • Experience with BI visualization tools and storytelling to effectively communicate insights.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and AI-enabled analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain program-level and Big Bet dashboards that track KPIs, benefits, investments, milestones, and value realization, serving as the single source of truth for program performance.
  • Develop executive-facing reports for leadership meetings, translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • Automate recurring benefit and program reporting processes, replacing manual workflows with validated, scheduled data flows.
  • Identify automation opportunities, including AI-powered narratives and summaries to surface insights proactively.
  • Construct and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into harmonized datasets and data models, documenting logic and lineage for transparency and auditability.
  • Establish business logic for raw data transformation, ensuring reliable and accurate reporting.
  • Design semantic models and curated datasets for both current dashboards and AI consumption.
  • Partner with finance
