- Overview
- Client is seeking a Business Analyst to support ecommerce, loyalty, customer data, and promotional technology initiatives for one of our clients. This role will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand current systems, gather requirements, document processes, and support new functionality tied to customer loyalty, promotions, segmentation, and digital commerce.
- The ideal candidate brings strong intellectual curiosity, excellent people skills, and the ability to dig into how systems work rather than simply taking requirements at face value. This person should be comfortable working with customer data, promotional activation, and marketing or loyalty-related business processes.
- Responsibilities:
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document requirements for ecommerce, loyalty, customer data, and promotional initiatives.
- Analyze current processes and systems to understand how customer data, segmentation, rewards, and promotions are supported today.
- Work with technology teams to translate business needs into functional requirements and clear documentation.
- Support initiatives involving loyalty foundations, customer rewards, fuel/rewards programs, promotional activation, segmentation, and marketing technology capabilities.
- Help identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and opportunities for process or system improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers, QA, developers, business users, and other analysts.
- Assist with documentation in Confluence or similar tools.
- Support testing, issue clarification, and stakeholder communication as needed.
- Ask thoughtful questions and challenge assumptions to ensure the right business outcomes are being addressed.
- Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst supporting IT, ecommerce, marketing technology, loyalty, retail, customer data, or related business systems.
- Strong requirements gathering, process analysis, and documentation skills.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
- Strong curiosity and ability to investigate how systems, data, and processes work.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional business and technical teams.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with customer data, segmentation, marketing automation, CDP platforms, or promotional activation.
- Experience supporting loyalty programs, customer rewards, fuel rewards, retail promotions, or ecommerce platforms.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with ECRS Catapult or similar retail/POS-related platforms is a plus.
- Retail, grocery, ecommerce marketplace, or digital commerce experience.
