JOB SUMMARY

  • Under general direction of the Project Manager, the Business Analyst is responsible for drafting business requirements documentation and creating/supporting reports.
  • This position requires strong analytics and technical knowledge, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • · Create clear business requirements by eliciting and documenting needs of all project stakeholders to design, develop, test, and implement solutions
  • · Collaborate with leadership and business units to develop and maintain in-depth understanding of data structures, systems, and business operations
  • · Cultivate and maintain open effective communication channels within the department and related business units within the organization
  • · Engage and collaborate with teammates and stakeholders by maintaining solutions-focused mindset, especially when faced with challenges, to cross-functionally accomplish goals in a positive working atmosphere
  • · Assist in evaluation of bug reports/tickets and audit/assessment/examination findings (both internal and external) to identify any potential systematic issues and/or value-add process improvement enhancements, quantifying potential business impact and documenting findings/recommendations
  • · Provide support to answer questions and address any problems/issues as they arise promptly communicating to manager
  • · Ensure timeliness of assigned reviews for time-sensitive changes/proofs
  • · Enhance SQL and reporting skillset to examine complex data sets and transform data into effective stories, which present summarized actionable insights to inform business decisions and strategy
  • · Crosstrain with Quality Assurance Analyst to serve as backup and/or additional testing support as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
  • · Strong computer skills. Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • · Strong knowledge of data analysis and reporting
  • · Knowledge and exposure of SQL DB
  • · Excellent organizational skills
  • · Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical) and able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • · Strong problem-solving abilities (related to enhancing software, ensuring bug-free, and focusing on user requirements)
  • · Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • · Demonstrates initiative with ability to manage self and workload
  • · Displays professionalism and represents organization in a professional manner
  • · A valid driver’s license

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • · Associate degree or higher, or two-years relevant experience
  • · Strong analytics and business requirements documentation experience
  • · Experience in Excel/MS SQL/T-SQL
  • · Experience in PowerBI/SSRS/Crystal Reports preferred
  • · Experience in JIRA/Zephyr/Figma preferred
  • · Experience in the financial industry would be a plus
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. This position requires sitting for long periods of time and very frequent use of a keyboard. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, scanners, and fax machines. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 5 pounds unassisted.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
