- The Role
- The Business Analyst / Functional Consultant is the link between our clients’ business needs and the capabilities of the Vendavo platform. You will translate complex commercial pricing requirements into well-defined solutions, guiding clients from current-state pain points to a future-state design that helps them meet their goals. The ideal candidate can conceptualize the gaps between current and future state and clearly articulate, in both written and verbal communication, how to bridge those gaps with solutions that deliver measurable value.
- The Opportunity
- Support the successful delivery of multiple Vendavo implementation projects, from discovery through go-live.
- Provide design, development, and systems-integration user stories for client engagements, from the definition phase through implementation.
- Partner with the technical team to support delivery of functional use cases.
- Identify risks in the solution design and own the functional solution outcomes within the project.
- Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative functional solutions.
- Key Responsibilities
- Gather functional and non-functional requirements and draft user stories using Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Define and articulate product features, configuration, specifications, and user stories.
- Draft, update, and track user stories throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that both customer stakeholders and project stakeholders stay aligned on requirements.
- Develop a working understanding of the features, capabilities, and limitations of the Vendavo platform, including its pricing, quoting and agreements, rebates, and analytics modules.
- Promote best practices in data analysis, pricing configuration, and reporting.
- Collaborate with the QA team, project managers, and developers to ensure alignment with client requirements.
- Monitor project progress by tracking development activity, resolving bottlenecks, and publishing status reports.
- Participate in product development, testing, user acceptance, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Learn each client’s business and become a subject matter expert in their commercial processes.
- Communicate project progress to senior management and clients in writing and in daily meetings.
- The Skillset
- Experience in customer-facing, consultative roles at an enterprise software company or professional technology consulting firm, ideally serving industrial, automotive, distribution, consumer packaged goods, chemical, or high-tech clients.
- Experience presenting to groups that include senior managers and executive-level stakeholders.
- Self-organized, with a healthy balance of independent ownership and team collaboration.
- A working understanding of value-based selling and how pricing decisions affect margin.
- CPQ and/or B2B pricing experience is a strong plus.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience with project management and defect-tracking tools such as Jira and ALM.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Vendavo, SAP CPQ, Salesforce, or comparable pricing and CPQ platforms is a plus.
