Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Big Data Consultant role based in Raleigh, NC. The Big Data Consultant will work with client stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and design scalable big data solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and optimizing data pipelines, implementing ETL processes, and designing data warehouse and data lake architectures. The role involves performing big data analytics to surface insights, collaborating with data science teams, and ensuring data quality, performance, and security across platforms. The consultant will document solutions, provide technical guidance, and support deployment and ongoing optimization of big data environments.
Qualifications
Strong big data fundamentals, including experience with Big Data and Big Data Analytics platforms and tools.
Background in Data Science, with the ability to work with large, complex datasets and support analytical and machine learning initiatives.
Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools, including designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines.
Experience in Data Warehousing concepts and implementation, including modeling, performance tuning, and integration with analytics solutions.
Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language commonly used in data environments (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, SQL).
Familiarity with modern big data ecosystems (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, cloud data platforms) is highly beneficial.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience working in consulting or client-facing roles, with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
