Manager, Risk, Compliance & IT Security - 75% remote + 1 week travel

We're looking for an experienced Manager of Risk, Compliance & IT Security to own this function and help us build a culture where security and compliance are embedded into everything we do, not bolted on at the end.
What You'll Do
Lead and mature the organization's risk management framework — identifying, assessing, and prioritizing operational and technical risks
Own compliance obligations across relevant frameworks and regulations (e.g. ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, GDPR, or industry-specific requirements) and drive audit readiness year-round
Develop, maintain, and enforce IT security policies, standards, and procedures
Oversee vulnerability management, incident response planning, and security monitoring practices
Partner with IT, engineering, legal, and business teams to ensure risk and security considerations are integrated into projects and decisions early
Manage relationships with external auditors, assessors, and security vendors
Report on risk posture, compliance status, and security metrics to senior leadership
Build awareness across the organization through training and communications
What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience in risk management, IT security, compliance, or a combined role
Strong working knowledge of common compliance frameworks and security standards
Experience managing or leading audits and regulatory assessments
Solid understanding of IT security principles — identity and access management, network security, endpoint protection, cloud security
Demonstrated ability to translate technical risk into business language for senior stakeholders
Relevant certifications a strong plus: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, or equivalent
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously
A pragmatic approach — you know when to be the guardrail and when to be the enabler
