Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer with 8+ years of expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data platforms and cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, ETL/ELT development, data warehousing, SQL, big data technologies, and cloud architecture. This role requires partnering with cross-functional teams to build reliable, scalable, and secure data pipelines that enable data-driven business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics for processing and integrating data from multiple sources.
Build and support enterprise data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse solutions using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS) and modern cloud architectures.
Develop and optimize cloud-native data solutions leveraging Azure services, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
Create and manage large-scale data transformations using PySpark, Spark SQL, Scala, and Databricks notebooks.
Design and implement data models, dimensional schemas, and data integration frameworks to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
Build robust data ingestion frameworks for batch and real-time processing using Azure Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Kafka, and Azure Functions.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects in Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, and Synapse Analytics.
Implement data quality, validation, governance, and lineage processes to ensure accurate, secure, and consistent data across platforms.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and cloud infrastructure to improve system performance and operational efficiency.
Implement security and compliance standards using Azure Key Vault, Managed Identities, RBAC, and data encryption techniques.
Develop and support CI/CD deployment processes using Azure DevOps, Git, ARM Templates, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, data scientists, architects, and application teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Support migration and modernization initiatives from on-premises data platforms to Azure cloud environments.
Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and best-practice implementation for enterprise-scale data platforms.
Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and contribute to sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and release activities.
Required Skills
8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL/ELT Development, and Data Warehousing.
Strong expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), and Azure SQL Database.
Hands-on experience with PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, Scala, and SQL.
Experience designing and maintaining enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures.
Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services and data integration patterns.
Experience with Data Modeling, Dimensional Modeling, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema.
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, ARM Templates, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with real-time and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Event Hub, Stream Analytics, and Spark Streaming.
Knowledge of relational databases including SQL Server, Azure SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
