- AWS Data Engineer

- Pay Rate: Up to $65/hour W2 or $70/hour C2C (Based on Experience)

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to join a growing Data Engineering team supporting enterprise-scale cloud initiatives within a leading financial services organization.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing and building modern cloud-based data platforms, developing scalable data pipelines, and working with large volumes of enterprise data. You'll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions using the latest AWS technologies.
- What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-native data architectures on AWS
- Build robust data ingestion pipelines from on-premises and cloud-based data sources
- Develop and support ETL/ELT processes to ensure high-quality, secure, and reliable data movement
- Design and implement enterprise data lakes and data warehouse solutions
- Participate in architecture and system design discussions for large-scale data engineering initiatives
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality, reusable code following engineering best practices
- Build serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, and related services
- Migrate data from relational databases, APIs, and file systems into AWS platforms including S3, RDS, Aurora, and Redshift
- Develop streaming data solutions using Amazon Kinesis, SQS, and Kafka (preferred)
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for enterprise data platforms
- Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, Operations, and cross-functional engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle
- Research emerging technologies, build proof-of-concepts, and recommend new solutions
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data platforms for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience building enterprise data lakes, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms on AWS
- Strong programming experience with Python, SQL, and Shell scripting
- Experience building serverless data applications and orchestrating data pipelines
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and cloud data architectures
- Experience designing and implementing AWS data ingestion pipelines
- Knowledge of enterprise data warehousing concepts and best practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within Agile development teams
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with API Gateway, ElasticSearch, Amazon SQS, and additional AWS services
- Experience using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
- Experience implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience building real-time streaming data solutions using Amazon Kinesis, Kafka, and SQS
- AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer Certification
- Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and modern cloud data platforms
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards
