ESG Strategy Entry Level Full-Time

About The Role

The Associate Analyst, Total Rewards will support the ESG Strategy practice's work in workforce demographics and labor market research, learning the analytical methods and data infrastructure that power ACPWB's advisory engagements. This is structured, supervised work with a clear development path. You will learn from a team of 14 that genuinely enjoys teaching. We are aware that not every firm can say this. We can say it.

The Associate Analyst, Total Rewards joins ACPWB's ESG Strategy group as a foundational contributor — someone who is eager to learn, comfortable with data, and willing to ask questions when something doesn't make sense. We enroll all new analysts in our ACPWB Foundation Year curriculum and pair each new hire with a Manager who will invest in your development as a core part of their own job.

Key Responsibilities

  • ◆ Complete assigned compliance, ethics, and professional development training modules on schedule
  • ◆ Assist in maintaining and updating ACPWB's proprietary benchmarking data libraries
  • ◆ Assist with the assembly and formatting of client deliverables including presentations and memos
  • ◆ Support data requests from senior team members with timely, accurate, and well-organized outputs
  • ◆ Assist with survey administration including data collection follow-up and respondent tracking
  • ◆ Support the collection and organization of proxy statement and SEC filing data
  • ◆ Enter and verify data in ACPWB's compensation benchmarking databases under the supervision of a Manager

Qualifications

Required

  • ◆ Interest in compensation, human capital, or workforce research as a professional focus
  • ◆ Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic charting
  • ◆ Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and a habit of asking questions when something is unclear
  • ◆ Ability to follow detailed analytical instructions and apply feedback consistently

Preferred

  • ◆ Experience supporting a professional team in a coordinator or assistant capacity
  • ◆ Prior research assistant experience in an academic or professional setting
  • ◆ Familiarity with any benchmarking or survey platform (Radford, Mercer, WTW, or similar)
  • ◆ Familiarity with proxy statements, annual reports, or SEC filings

WHY ACPWB

We are a firm that believes compensation data should be used for good — specifically, for the good of the working Americans who rely on it to understand their value and advocate for themselves. That belief animates everything we do, from the research we publish to the way we pay our own team. Our people are our IP, and we compensate them accordingly.

ACPWB was founded in Milwaukee in 2006 with a simple mandate: help working Americans understand and advocate for the compensation they deserve. Eighteen years later, that mandate has grown into a full-service research and advisory practice serving clients from early-stage employers to Fortune 50 enterprises — and we are still based in Milwaukee, because Milwaukee is genuinely underrated.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

Candidates will complete a two-stage process: a 45-minute exploratory call followed by a comprehensive final interview including a skills demonstration. We do not require unpaid work samples. We do require genuine expertise. These are different things.

What Success Looks Like In Year One

  • ◆ Demonstrate the ability to independently manage a small, well-defined research task from start to finish
  • ◆ Understand ACPWB's core analytical methodology well enough to explain it to a new hire
  • ◆ Take ownership of at least one recurring team responsibility — a data update, a tracking log, a template — and execute it reliably
