Summary
The Applications Operational Analyst will provide functional application support and act as a primary liaison between business stakeholders, software developers, and IT staff. This role ensures clear communication of needs and priorities, translates business requirements into actionable work items, supports testing and release readiness, and drives adoption through strong organization and documentation practices. The ideal candidate brings expertise in stakeholder management, business process analysis, requirement gathering, and digital tool utilization, including ERP and operations management systems.

- Application Support & Operations
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of enterprise applications and point solutions, including how business teams utilize them.
- Provide functional support and expert guidance on business processes and system capabilities.
- Assist with application troubleshooting as required; participate in the applications group on-call rotation.
- Adhere to SOX procedures and support audit/compliance needs through accurate records and traceability.
- Process Analysis, Optimization & Digital Transformation
- Evaluate existing business processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for automation and optimization; support digital transformation initiatives across design, factory operations, and construction.
- Assess potential solutions and ensure alignment with business objectives, support implementation with business validation and performance tracking.
- Stakeholder Liaison & Change Delivery
- Serve as a bridge between business teams and technical teams (developers and IT operations) to ensure shared understanding of needs, priorities, and constraints.
- Coordinate and manage business priorities to align with overall company objectives; facilitate timely decisions and trade-offs.
- Clarify issues, align on scope and acceptance criteria, and ensure timely handoffs through the full request-to-delivery lifecycle.
- Coordinate with external vendors and partners to support delivery and ongoing performance of business applications and digital solutions.
- Requirements, Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Identify and analyze business needs; gather and document functional requirements, user stories, and business cases.
- Create and maintain FRDs, functional specifications, process flows, decisions, and release notes to provide a clear single source of truth.
- Create and maintain operational documentation (knowledge articles, runbooks, and application support procedures) and ensure updates are communicated as changes are released.
- Support end-user readiness through UAT coordination, training materials, and user support to drive adoption.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze business data to support decision-making and provide actionable insights.
- Partner with the data team to develop and enhance reports and dashboards (e.g., Power BI).
Qualifications
- Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, manufacturing, accounting, supply chain or management information systems or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years’ experience supporting Enterprise applications.
- Experience operating in a SOX compliant organization.
- Technical
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in IT, manufacturing, or digital transformation projects.
- Knowledge of ERP (Microsoft Dynamics preferred), construction management operational systems, or general business operations.
- Understanding of IT operations or application management.
- Experience in process improvement and automation using digital tools like Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, TeamGuru, Zaptic, etc.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Excellent organization and documentation skills, including FRDs, functional specifications, user stories, process mapping, and maintaining accurate support/runbook documentation.
- Business-level proficiency in English, especially in technical communication (reading/writing).
- Experience with ticketing tools (ServiceNow) a plus
- Non-technical
- Initiative-taking analytical person who is enthusiastic about improving business processes through digital solutions.
- Effective capabilities to notice, observe and understand different stakeholder concerns and purposes from different domains of the business (i.e., executive/management, office, design, factory operations, field operations).
- Strong communicator, capable of translating business needs into technical solutions
- Collaborative team player who can work effectively across different departments and stakeholders.
- Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and methodologies.
- Initiative-taker capable of working independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated discipline in documenting work (decisions, requirements, incident details, and action items) and keeping materials current for auditability and continuity.

- Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This position is primarily based in a professional corporate office environment and requires regular use of standard office equipment, including computers, laptops, and telecommunication systems. The Applications Operational Analyst will spend the majority of time performing work at a desk or workstation, including analyzing data, documenting processes, supporting applications, and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
This role requires frequent interaction with cross-functional teams, including business operations, IT, and external vendors, both in-person and through virtual communication platforms. The ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is essential.
This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and visually focus on computer screens for prolonged durations. Occasional standing, walking, bending, or lifting of light office materials (up to approximately 15 pounds) may be required.
The Applications Operational Analyst is expected to work onsite from the corporate office and must be able to travel locally to various company business locations as needed to support operational initiatives, system implementations, and stakeholder engagement.
In addition, this role requires periodic overnight travel, monthly, to support business operations across multiple regions, including Nevada, Texas, California, and Florida, with the potential for travel to other locations as business needs evolve. Travel may include site visits, project support, training, and coordination with regional teams.
