DEPARTMENT: Office of the Chief Information Officer
Summary
The Application Systems Analyst works on the Enterprise Solutions Services (ESS) Applications Team and collaborates closely with department managers, end users, and subject matter experts to help deliver solutions to fit the Church’s business needs. This position provides quality analyses of new and existing solutions and configures features and functionality to improve business processes. Further they conduct testing, locate potential problems, and solve them in an efficient manner.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Support Ongoing Administration
- Respond to issues reported by users; research and resolve issues in a timely fashion with some oversight
- Work with vendors to understand and resolve escalated issues
- Perform application support, including but not limited to: application setup, configuration, implementation, maintenance, updates, user access, permissions, and security. It also involves troubleshooting, researching user problems, resolving production issues
- Perform compliance maintenance, ensures existing infrastructure, applications and business processes meet with current and future regulatory controls placed on our organization (GAAP, PCI, HIPPA)
- Provide excellent customer service: communicate in a comprehensive and warm manner, and participate in vendor user groups and online listservs, and review contents of vendor updates, to ensure optimization of the capabilities of the assigned applications
- Support user adoption through support and training super users.
- Capture, analyze and deliver meaningful insights from application usage and metrics
Support Project Activity
- Work with users to understand and define requirements
- Review, analyze and evaluate Enterprise applications along with current business processes and departmental requirements
- Implement configuration changes
- Develop and execute test scenarios based on requirements
- Confirm solution success
- Support digital transformation efforts by implementing approved AI features and enhancements in a secure and governed manner
Support Administration
- Have a developed understanding of application functionality -attending trainings and/or reading documentation
- Perform maintenance of existing and drafting of new ESS documentation to support the Applications Team and the organization
- Participate in vendor user groups and forums, and review contents of vendor updates, to ensure optimization of the capabilities of the assigned applications
- Updates work tracking tools and other administrative tasks

Regular Contacts
This position has regular contact with fellow TFCCS employees, including TFCCS service departments, Enterprise Solutions Services and Digital Solutions Services peers, the Service Desk, Department Managers, and the Enterprise Portfolio Project Management Office, and vendors.
Education/Experience
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required (equivalent experience may be considered)
- Experience as an Application Analyst or similar experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written, verbal), and presentation skills are required
- Active listener
- Practiced at learning new vendor application(s) and utilizing application tools to tailor system(s) to meet user requirements is required
- Enterprise application support and business process expertise is required
- Understanding of data modeling, database management, project management, business analysis and business process mapping is preferred
- Experience gathering requirements and writing users stories is preferred
Technology Skills
- Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Products is required
- Foundational knowledge of a software language is preferred
Work Environment
Preference for onsite work in Boston, but may possibly work remotely with periodic visits to the Boston office as needed.
Engagement with Christian Science
- Mother Church membership preferred
- Primary Class instruction preferred
Pay range: $87,428 - $113,655.80 annually
The pay ranges disclosed in our job postings are the compensation ranges the Church reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for a given position at the time of posting.
The offered salary will be determined by factors such as the applicant’s relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities; and benchmarking, work location, and internal equity.
