  • We’re seeking an experienced Epic Willow Inpatient Application Analyst/Builder to join a collaborative pharmacy IT team supporting enterprise-wide clinical and operational initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate combines strong hospital pharmacy knowledge with hands-on Epic Willow build expertise and can translate complex pharmacy workflows into effective, scalable system solutions.
  • What You’ll Do
  • Participate in a dynamic 4-week rotational model across five core areas:
  • Investigational Medication Management
  • Willow Charging & Billing Build
  • System Enhancement Requests
  • Incident & Ticket Resolution
  • Formulary Catalog & System Maintenance
  • Configure data fields, screens, rules, order sets, order panels, and customer-defined functionality in alignment with Epic Foundation Build standards.
  • Support and lead major initiatives, including Willow Inventory implementations, oncology/infusion cancer center expansions, behavioral health rollouts, and health system integrations.
  • Partner with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and providers to evaluate workflow challenges and develop optimal technical solutions.
  • Build, execute, and document unit, integrated, and upgrade testing.
  • Provide go-live cutover and post-go-live optimization support.
  • Maintain version control, risk logs, issue trackers, and root-cause documentation.
  • Collaborate with a 15+ member pharmacy IT team through weekly meetings and open office hours to troubleshoot complex issues and share best practices.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Required
  • Current Epic Willow Inpatient Certification, including up-to-date New Version Training (NVT).
  • 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on Epic Willow system build experience in a hospital or health system environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Epic Willow applications and working directly with pharmacy customers.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Pharmacy, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Key Technical Expertise
  • Complex order set and order panel build, testing, and maintenance.
  • Willow Charging builds, billing rules, and revenue cycle touchpoints.
  • Medication master file, formulary/catalog maintenance, ERX builds, and investigational medication workflows.
  • Automated Dispensing System (ADS) integrations, including Pyxis and/or Omnicell.
  • Understanding of acute care, inpatient, and oncology/infusion pharmacy workflows.
  • Strong ability to translate clinical and operational requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Tier 1: Licensed Pharmacist (PharmD/RPh) with hospital pharmacy experience, current Epic Willow certification, and 3+ years of Willow build experience.
  • Tier 2: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with extensive hospital pharmacy experience, current Epic Willow certification, and 3–5 years of Willow build experience.
  • Tier 3: Pharmacist with hospital operational/informatics IT experience, such as Pyxis support or healthcare software implementations, who is willing to obtain Epic certification.
