Job Description
HealthPartners is hiring a Provider Data Business Analyst. This role is accountable for three main components within Provider Electronic Commerce and Operations Dept:
- REPORTING - Access data, develop meaningful reports, produce and distribute routine and ad hoc reports for provider data as needed within these areas for auditing, regulatory or other business purposes:
- Provider networks and compliance
- Practitioners and associated locations
- EDI support
- Web support
- DATA ANALYSIS – Analyze data to identify data inconsistencies and process inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improving data integrity and processes. Consult with Sr Data Analyst and/or appropriate business teams to provide meaningful data for metrics to support efficiency improvements.
- DOCUMENTATION - Document reports and maintain library of reports written. Develop and maintain training and supportive documentation for reporting.
Accountabilities
- Report development.
- Develop standard audit reports to support data integrity.
- Create ad hoc reports to support various organization needs including RFPs, network customizations, claims set-up, provider relations, credentialing, government programs, EDI and various corporate initiatives.
- Provide dashboards and metrics reports as needed by management.
- Provide and/or report information to internal customers on performance standards.
- Provide data analysis support to customers.
- Identify and document reporting needs to support business areas including facilitation of audit protocol development.
- Work with departments using CPN data via application interfaces to ensure accuracy through validation testing and other audit methods.
- Collaborate with appropriate product teams to create reporting enhancements which includes business requirement development and building test cases.
- Perform user testing for system enhancements impacting reporting tables and/or current reports impacted.
- Evaluate reporting options for auditing provider data including designing, developing standard and customized or ad hoc reports to meet customer requirements.
- Perform data comparisons to identify data differences or validations.
- Documentation creation.
- Produce and maintain documentation of reports created.
- Update SharePoint site with information related to report tracking, FAQs, training or special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
BA or BS degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, health care management, business, finance, or other area providing analytical and technical skills. In lieu of degree, six years of experience as a customer service, project manager, claims, provider network position, or analyst in a health care organization.
- 2 years data analysis experience using reporting tools for accessing Oracle and/or other relational database data.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Power BI reporting tools.
- Knowledge of the philosophy and tools of continuous quality improvement and a willingness to use both in daily work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective interpersonal, relationship building and persuasion skills for a diverse customer base.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail Oriented.
- Strong skills in translating customer needs into the data extraction process
- Proven project management, team building, and time management skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while balancing multiple customer demands
- Ability to coordinate large projects and effectively negotiate resources and customer demands
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SQL or PL SQL Developer
