Overview

The Analyst, Investments operates within Oak View Group’s Investment Team and helps support all major capital decision-making globally. The Investment Team’s core responsibility is the management and analysis of all capital inflows and outflows across the Company. Examples of the Investment Team’s responsibilities include sourcing and executing new venue development projects and M&A opportunities, as well as analyzing investment opportunities across food & beverage, venue services, and other verticals across OVG’s portfolio. The Investment Team is largely composed of former investment bankers and lawyers. The position is responsible for conducting financial analysis and strategic capital planning for real estate development projects, acquisition opportunities, new service business / business development, contract management support, RFP responses, and corporate analytics. Duties will include the evaluation of new business opportunities, investments, and other strategic finance and variance analysis across the company's businesses and geographies.

 

Representative past development projects include Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, WA, UBS Arena in Elmont, NY, Moody Center in Austin, TX, CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, MD, Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, CA, Co-op Live in Manchester, UK, and TD Coliseum in Hamilton, ON. Past acquisitions include Spectra, Spectrum Catering & Concessions, Rhubarb Hospitality Collection, The Brewery, and Invited’s Stadium Clubs business.

 

The role reports to the Head of Investments and is located onsite at OVG’s New York City office.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $100,000 - $125,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Build financial models in Microsoft Excel that can be used to evaluate new projects, potential acquisitions, and other strategy assignments that, in turn, drive recommendations to senior management based on the analysis prepared.
  • Create investment and strategic materials using Microsoft PowerPoint to be shared with key internal and external stakeholders, including executive management, investors, clients, rating agencies, and lenders.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on strategic assignments.
  • Respond to diligence requests from external third parties as part of the financing process for new and existing projects, as well as the corporate-level capital structure.
  • Plan and execute all aspects of financial analysis projects and statistical studies for the department and company (deal terms, historic deals, and upcoming business development opportunities figure prominently).
  • Partner with division heads to oversee the financial side of new business opportunities and support all business development initiatives.
  • Manage and track OVG’s contract database.
  • Assist across a wide range of additional special projects.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate FP&A, or a consulting role supporting a matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
  • Excellent mathematical, communication, and computer skills.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use complex formulas across multiple investment scenarios (debt, preferred equity, waterfalls, and other areas).
  • Solid understanding of the three financial statements, debt structures, time value of money, and bond math.
  • Ability to build a pro-forma model and analyze businesses based on key performance indicators and financial metrics.
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills and ability to present information in a clear and concise way while also being visually appealing.
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to craft short-form and long-form documents, including memos, presentations, and CIMs.
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks with little notice.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong desire to win.
