Phillips 66 is seeking an Advisor II, Data Engineer to help deliver trusted data products and platform capabilities for our refinery and midstream businesses. In this role, you’ll work across the full delivery lifecycle to turn industrial and operational data into reliable, analytics-ready assets that support reporting, optimization, and decision-making. You’ll have the opportunity to work with modern cloud data platforms and contribute to scalable, well-governed solutions that improve how our businesses use data.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain batch and near-real-time data pipelines for refinery, laboratory, and operational datasets.
- Ingest and process data from industrial and enterprise source systems, including PI-related data sources and other operational platforms.
- Develop and optimize curated data assets, tables, views, and datasets that support reporting, analytics, optimization, and downstream applications.
- Apply data engineering and DevOps practices, including source control, branching, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release support across development, test, and production environments.
- Schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot jobs, workflows, and pipeline executions to support reliable data delivery and operational readiness.
- Investigate and resolve data quality, data availability, and production support issues by identifying root causes and implementing lasting corrective actions.
- Apply data governance, security, metadata, data quality, and role-based access standards while helping stakeholders improve data consistency and usability.
- Partner with business stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery partners to clarify requirements, validate outputs, improve processes, and document solutions and support procedures.
What You’ll Bring – Required
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 or more years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical role
- 2 or more years of experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration processes, or cloud-based data solutions
- 1 or more years of hands-on experience with DevOps practices such as source control, CI/CD, deployment automation, or multi-environment support
- Intermediate proficiency with SQL and at least one general-purpose programming language such as Python, Scala, or Java
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
- Experience supporting data engineering use cases in refining, manufacturing, laboratory, operational, or other industrial environments
- Experience with Databricks, Azure data services, Azure storage, or similar modern cloud data platforms
- Experience with Azure DevOps or comparable tools for repositories, pipelines, release automation, and work tracking
- Experience ingesting or supporting time-series, sensor, historian, or PI-related data
- Experience supporting analytics-ready data products for reporting, dashboards, optimization, or data science use cases
- Experience with orchestration, workflow scheduling, job monitoring, and production support
- Experience with data governance, metadata management, Unity Catalog, and role-based access controls
- Experience supporting data solutions across development, test, and production environments through a controlled release process
- Experience working with product, analytics, application, and vendor resources in a cross-functional delivery environment
- Experience working with structured and semi-structured data in enterprise or industrial environments
Compensation Range
This position has a base salary range of $108,900 – $133,100.

Where a candidate offer falls within the posted range depends on the candidate's experience, skills, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
