  • Company Description Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, founded in 1891 in Jamaica, Queens, has grown into a 431-bed, fully accredited community teaching hospital with a broad network of ambulatory care centers.   • Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accounts Payable Analyst role based in New York, NY. The Accounts Payable Analyst will process and verify vendor invoices, ensure accurate coding and timely payments, and reconcile vendor statements to resolve discrepancies. This role will review purchase orders and contracts for compliance with hospital policies and assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable. The analyst will communicate regularly with internal departments and external vendors to address payment issues and maintain up-to-date records. The role also includes supporting process improvements, preparing reports for management, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Finance and Accounting, including familiarity with accounts payable processes and general ledger concepts.
  • Proficient Analytical Skills and experience with Account Reconciliation to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders in a professional, service-oriented manner.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar), and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Prior accounts payable experience in healthcare or a similarly complex, high-volume environment is a plus.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
