Job Description
About TD Securities and Summer Analyst Program
TD Securities provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients through Global Transaction Banking ("GTB"), Corporate and Investment Banking ("CIB"), and Global Markets ("GM"). The firm works with clients around the world, focusing selectively and strategically on key global financial centers: Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, New York, London, Singapore, and Seoul. www.td.com
GTB is a key growth business within TD Securities. GTB helps corporate and institutional clients manage the financial activities that are essential to running their businesses, including cash management, trade & working capital, financial institutions, and all the corresponding product and risk functions associated with these business lines.
Transaction banking is evolving quickly, driven by changing client needs, technology, geopolitical event, global trade flows, regulatory developments, and innovation across financial services. As a Summer Analyst, you will gain exposure to how GTB develops, delivers, and manages solutions that help clients manage their day-to-day financial operations, make and receive payments, finance their working capital, and facilitate their international trade.
Program Overview
The Global Transaction Banking Summer Analyst Program is a 16-week internship based in New York. The program is designed to provide students with broad exposure across GTB, including potential rotations or project work across sales, relationship management, product, risk, and strategic execution teams, subject to business needs. GTB team members deal directly with clients from the beginning of their careers and much earlier than might be the case in other business lines.
This program is intended for students who are intellectually curious, adaptable, collaborative, and interested in building a foundation across the full transaction banking platform. Successful Summer Analysts may be considered for future full-time Analyst opportunities within GTB. Because full-time opportunities may be available across different GTB businesses, we are looking for candidates who are excited to learn broadly and who would welcome the opportunity to begin their career in any area of the GTB platform.
Summer Analysts will gain experience through formal training, mentorship, networking opportunities, senior leader exposure, project work, and collaboration with North American and global GTB teams.
What You Will Learn
As a Summer Analyst, you may gain exposure to several areas of GTB, including:
- Client coverage and origination: Learn how GTB coverage teams work with corporate and institutional clients to understand their treasury, liquidity, payments, trade finance, and working capital needs.
- Product and innovation: Support teams that develop and enhance transaction banking infrastructure and technology across payments, receivables, liquidity, trade and working capital, digital, data, and analytics.
- Risk and portfolio management: Learn how GTB evaluates transactions, manages portfolio considerations, supports credit requests, reviews documentation, and partners with risk and control stakeholders.
- Strategic execution and business management: Support research, data analysis, process improvement, reporting, presentation development, and cross-functional initiatives that connect Origination, Product, Operations, Technology, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and other partners.
How You Will Contribute
As a Summer Analyst, you may:
- Prepare client-facing and internal presentation materials.
- Conduct company, industry, market, product, and competitive research.
- Analyze client needs, transaction flows, product usage, and business opportunities.
